Little John’s Kitchen seeks to eliminate food poverty in Dane County by utilizing perfectly good food waste (produce and goods we don’t buy because it doesn’t look “perfect”) from local grocery stores and creating nourishing, chef-quality meals to be distributed via schools, shelters, and a pay-what-you-want restaurant. They also seek to empower people in planting and harvesting foods, and in creating kitchen education and employment opportunities for veterans. But it takes a community to make a big dream happen.
As yogis, we cannot work on ourselves alone and call our practice complete. We must also work with and practice alongside our community, especially those who suffer. Our inward work shows in our outward love and offerings. And as the past years have shown, we are they and they are we. We are but a disaster away from hunger ourselves.
You are invited to show solidarity and hope with our community by attending a donation-based sound bath and yoga nidra. All proceeds go directly to Little John’s Kitchen.

Beltane
Beltane: the season of playfulness, joy, fertility, and creativity! You are invited to share in these qualities in a gentle yoga flow and meditation on Saturday, May 1, at 11 am. This is our first weather-dependent event, so details as to the exact place will be announced closer to the date. Weather permitting, we will meet safely distanced in a local park. Otherwise, we will practice via Zoom. For those unable to attend in person (weather permitting), I will record via Zoom so replay will be available.

Samhain
Samhain: the time of year when the veil between this life and the next is thin, offering us a chance to listen, to honor, to reflect.
From 2019
You are invited to join Bekah for a Yule-tide celebration on Saturday, Dec. 14th, from 4-6 p.m at the Quarry Arts Building in Madison, WI.
Yule is all about hope, so we will enjoy a heart-centered seated yoga and meditation practice, a Yule log decorating DIY (which you get to take home!), and wassail and gingerbread. This will be a lovely, heart-warming and hope-affirming session sure to center you during the holiday season.

Sankalpa Life Yoga and Wellness is joining forces with Brown Horse Herbal to offer you a Samhain (pronounced "sow-in") experience to release negativity and to honor the departed, a perfect way to celebrate the season and take care of yourself before the rush of holidays and the New Year.
Please join us on October 26 at the Quarry Arts Building in Madison from 4-6 pm for a gentle, all-levels yoga flow and yin; a tea ceremony with custom herbal tea made by Brown Horse Herbal; a ritual release and ancestral forgiveness and remembrance; and relaxing, nurturing energy healing.
